Toucans are some of the most amazing members of the bird world!
The family Ramphastidae includes the Toucans, Toucanets and Aracaris. While all of these birds are truly spectacular, we have focused on the groups of birds known as Aracaris. This group is particularly affectionate and enjoys human companionship and contact. They are also small enough to make housing much more practical. Extremely social by nature, Aracaris live in extended family groups in the wild, working together when raising chicks, watching for danger, and seeking food. They even sleep together inside tree hollows with many birds crammed tightly into very small areas. All of this makes them amazing pets that love physical contact and attention. With good care they can live well into their upper teens to 20 years.
